Graduate program: MS in Computer Science Statement of Purpose
Since my childhood, I have been interested in Science and Mathematics. I love reading scientific discoveries and technological breakthroughs. Due to my interest in science and mathematics, I did well in Science as well as Mathematics in my primary and secondary school exams.
After completing my high school, I joined college to pursue my further (Intermediate) study with the aim to earn professional degree in Computer Engineering. To get profession degree in Computer Engineering, the prerequisite is to complete Intermediate degree in science with physics and mathematics as major subjects. So, I choose science as a major subject. I did well in Intermediate in Science (10+ 2). After completing my I.Sc., I joined Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering, Himalaya College of Engineering, which is one of the best colleges of Nepal to gain Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering. In 13-March-2007, I successfully completed my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering with good academic records and got the engineering certificate.
Immediately completing my Bachelor's Degree i.e. in 19-March-2007 ,WorldLink Technologies offered me a job of Trainee Software Developer. I accept the job and devote myself to do the assigned job to the best of my knowledge. My work impressed the Development Department and in 19-June-7, they promoted me to the Programmer.
In 1-August-2007, Kantipur Engineering College(LEC), Department of Computer and Electronics, Butwal offered as a Research Assistance on “Grid Computing”, which was also my undergraduation project. I am in convolusion what to do, but my desire to excavate the technology behind the magic triggered off my academic interest in Computer Engineering so, decided to do my job more sincerely and efficiently with LEC.
In December 18, 2007, the College Board made my job permanent as Deputy Head of Department of Research and Development . I was happy by the decision made by College Board and decided to do my job more sincerely and efficiently. In 15-Jan-2008, the college gave me extra responsibility to work as program coordinator of robotics club. I accept the challenge at once because of my interest in Robotics. Under my supervision, the college is developing a Robot to take part in Robotics Competition organized by Robotics Club, IOE.
Due to lack of Master's Degree, growth of my professional career slowed down. So, to keep pace of my success with time, I decided to pursue my master's degree. I inform the College Board about my decision and ask whether they would provide me a study leave or not. They were happy with my decision and said that they will provide me a study leave for two years if I bond to join the college after completing my master's degree. I accept the offer of the college and decided to pursue my master's degree. Then, I started to search university that provides the master's degree in Computer Science or subjects similar to Computer Science. I decided to pursue master's degree in Computer Science or similar subjects because this is the subject I love the most, this is one of the subjects I do engineering , I teach engineering. After extensive search, I found University of XYZ (UX) can fulfill my need. I found this University the most suitable for me because it is Cheap & the Best, provides Master's Degree in Computer Science and UX is one of the most esteemed Universities of USA.
I think in today’s world, what you study is not important. The more important thing is that whether you are enjoying the subject you are studying or not. Because in the long run of life, we can be satisfied with our job only if it interests to us.
My country Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world. One of the reasons for this is that there is very little skilled manpower in our country. Also, I will later do my best to create enough opportunities in our country so that our descendants needn’t leave the country for doing research and getting knowledge in the sector of Science and Technology.
